Kendala Pengelolaan Manajemen Arsip Dalam Pelayanan Administrasi Kependudukan Pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kabupaten Lombok Barat

Abstract

This study examines the challenges of archive management in population administration services at the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Dispendukcapil) of West Lombok Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with documentation techniques, this research identifies both technical and non-technical obstacles that hinder effective archival management. The findings reveal several key constraints, including limited budget allocations for the Centralized Population Administration Information System (SIAK), inadequate equipment such as computers and printers, network connectivity issues, and low public awareness regarding the importance of population documents. Furthermore, geographic barriers complicate the timely collection of archival files from remote villages. These challenges collectively reduce the efficiency and quality of public services. The study recommends strategic improvements including infrastructure investment, enhanced human resource capacity, accelerated digital archiving, and strengthened community outreach to optimize population administration services in West Lombok Regency.
